South Gambia 4×4 tour

Serrekunda market

Five tours in one day!

9:00 am we begin this interesting tour with a drive into some major attractions around the greater Banjul area. Our first stop is called the Kachically crocodile pool which is known for its healing powers.

While exploring urbanized settlements within these enslaves, we will make our second stop at the Serrekunda Central Market. It is often said that once you have survived this unique market experience then you are sure to survive anything in the Gambia. Take a small dive into it and learn the local way of market life where bargaining is the order of the day.

Step back in time during a visit to an animal market to witness animal husbandry and livestock management. And see a local school that brings you an opportunity to interact with schoolchildren. Gifts are welcome but must be presented professionally to avoid any disappointments.

A delicious lunch will be served on a famous virgin beach called ‘Paradise Beach’ where we will rest for swimming, beach football or enjoy the sights and sounds of the vicinity. Our last stop is at the third largest service industry in the Gambia called ‘Tanji Fishing Village’. Here you will learn how fish is preserved before being sent for export.

Excellent Tours

There is plenty of choice of tour companies on the Senegambia strip, but we liked the look of the Bushwhacker Tours office and were not disappointed with our choice.

We took a South Gambia 4×4 day tour with Lamin which gave us a taste of the real Gambia. We went around a local market, visited a crocodile pool, a local livestock market, a local school & fishing village, as well as visiting the lovely paradise beach for a spot of lunch…

Wonderful trips in the safe hands of ‘Malcolm’

We stayed in Kololi for a week, 4 days we had trips out with Bushwhacker Tours.

Our Guide Lamin ‘Malcolm’ was very friendly and had good local knowledge.

Explaining to us many aspects of cultural and community life, ensuring we got to see as much as possible. He was flexible with timings and nothing was too much trouble…
